Dorsk 81 - Page 2

After becoming a Jedi Knight, Dorsk 81 returned to his homeworld, but his people were still unwilling to accept Dorsk 81 or be proud of his accomplishment. All that is except Dorsk 82, Dorsk 81's successor. Dorsk 82 held his predecessor in high esteem, looking up to him, and expressing his wishes that maybe one day he might follow in his footsteps. Teaming up with Kyp Durron, Dorsk 81 and his friend went off to serve the galaxy as Jedi Knights. Traveling to the Core Worlds, where factions of the remaining Empire still roamed, Dorsk 81 and Kyp made a chilling discovery. Admiral Daala, the only female Admiral in the Empire, was rallying and collecting the Empire's forces and had teamed up with Admiral Pallaeon, who served under Grand Admiral Thrawn. With this new information, Dorsk and Kyp race back to the Jedi Academy to warn Master Skywalker of the news. Meanwhile, Admiral Daala and Pallaeon made their own plans to attack Yavin IV and the Jedi Academy.

As Dorsk and Kyp reach the moon, Pallaeon shows up with no less that seventeen Star Destroyers with which to destroy the jungle moon. However, the Jedi Knights band together, and as a group channel their Force energy through Dorsk 81 so that they might push back the incoming fleet. With Dorsk 81 collecting and channeling all the Jedi Knights collective powers, Dorsk reached a level of power he did not believe possible. With so much power, the Jedi actually succeeded in hurtling the entire fleet of Star Destroyers through space and away from the Academy.

Unfortunately, so much Force power was too much for Dorsk 81 to handle, and while the Jedi succeeded, Dorsk 81 was consumed from the inside out. Dorsk 81 gave his life to protect the Jedi Academy and the new order of Knights. The memory of Dorsk 81 lived on, and eventually his legacy was continued as his 'son,' Dorsk 82, eventually attained the rank of Jedi Knight. A true Jedi Knight, Dorsk 81 became one with the Force a hero.
